Madrid linked to Milan’s Bonucci

Real Madrid are lining up a sensational approach for Milan defender Leonardo Bonucci, according to reports in Spain.

A report in fichajes.net, which follows up a similar piece from OKDiario, states the Italian giants would be willing to cash-in on the defender due to their uncertain financial position.

The Spanish and European champions reportedly value the Italian international on several levels – for his physique, experience, eligibility for the Champions League and not having to condition himself for next summer’s World Cup.

The Rossoneri would be open to recalling the €40m they paid for the 30-year-old from Juventus this summer due to their ‘delicate’ financial situation, with fresh reports suggesting they will need to increase their revenue streams.

Madrid may wish to reinforce their defence after Pepe's departure this summer while a number of defensive stalwarts have suffered injuries this season.
