Radja Nainggolan has committed his future to Roma after Atletico Madrid Coach Diego Simeone publicly expressed his admiration of the midfielder.
Simeone told reporters, as quoted by Mediaset, that the Belgian midfielder “would be an extraordinary player for us,” but the 29-year-old has played down such reports.
“I've said it before but I made a decision to stay here last year and this year and I'm delighted to represent this club,” Nainggolan told Mediaset, in quotes translated by ESPN.
“I've got everything I need to be happy here.
“It's an honour [to be captain] because before me there were [Francesco] Totti, De Rossi and Florenzi -all huge players.
“I always try to give something to the team, with or without the captain's armband. I don't want to change clubs; I've no reason to.”
