Barcelona attempted to sign Liverpool-bound midfielder Naby Keita but ‘didn’t try as hard’ as the English club, according to RB Leipzig’s CEO.
Oliver Mintzlaff confirmed the Catalan giants were hopeful of a deal for the Guinea international, who has agreed to join the English Premier League side next summer in a €55m deal.
“Barcelona were also interested in Naby Keita,” Mintzlaff told Sport Bild.
“This has been confirmed to us by Barcelona themselves, but obviously they didn't try as hard as Liverpool.”
