Juve hope on Sergi Roberto

Barcelona’s failure to close a contract extension with Sergi Roberto has alerted Juventus, who are reportedly keen on a deal.

The 25-year-old’s contract at the Camp Nou expires in June 2019 and the utility player has a €40m release clause at the club.

Marca suggest the Blaugrana offered the midfielder a new contract which was rejected by the youth product and his agent Jose Maria Orobitg.

Reports now suggest any negotiation will take months rather than weeks and the passing of time means his exit from the club becomes increasingly likely.

Chelsea and Manchester United were also said to have tracked the central midfielder, who has also frequently played as right-back at Barca.
