Former Barcelona full-back Adriano believes Arda Turan still has what it takes to become a success at the Camp Nou.
The Brazilian, 32, joined Besiktas last year after winning 16 trophies in six years at the Blaugrana but believes Arda can turn his fortunes around at the Catalan club despite reportedl almost leaving this summer.
“Arda has the capability to become first choice at Barcelona,” Adriano is quoted as telling Turkish media by Diario AS.
“It’s been hard for him because for the first six months he was under the player registration ban and after that it’s difficult to get back into the rhythm of regular football.
“He’s also had injuries to deal with so these are difficult times for him, but he can get back to the player we all know and love.
“My memories of Barca? There are some good ones and some ones which aren’t so good, I too had a lot of injuries and fitness problems.
“I learned a lot at the club and was given the opportunity to play with some fantastic players and I will forever be grateful for that.
“I’m proud to have played a part in the most successful era of such a fantastic club’s history.”
