Report: Barca target Martial

Barcelona are reportedly keeping tabs on Manchester United and France winger Anthony Martial.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Barca believe Martial has “enough quality” to play for the club and are monitoring his situation at United.

The 21-year-old has started the season impressively, scoring six goals and assisting six in just nine appearances for the Red Devils.

However, the newspaper claims that may not be enough to guarantee him a regular place at Old Trafford, possibly forcing him to look elsewhere “sooner or later”.

Furthermore, his chances would be diminished further once Zlatan Ibrahimovic returns from an ACL injury towards the end of the year.

Barca, meanwhile, have just Denis Suarez and Gerard Deulofeu available on their left flank – where Martial tends to play – with Ousmane Dembele out for the foreseeable future.

The former Monaco starlet became the world’s most expensive youngster when he joined United in 2015, for a fee rising to €60m.
