Valencia have confirmed an option to buy Geoffrey Kondogbia permanently at the end of the campaign and ‘have an agreement’ with the player.
The French midfielder joined Los Che on a season-long loan deal from Inter this summer and the club reportedly held an option to buy at the end of the season for €25m plus 30 per cent of any future sale.
“We have a right to buy at the end of the season and already have an agreement with Kondogbia should we exercise the option,” Valencia director general Mateo Alemany confirmed in a press conference.
Kondogbia’s strong start to life at the Mestalla – including a goal at Real Madrid – was tempered somewhat by a red card in Sunday’s 3-2 win at Real Sociedad.
The 24-year-old joined the Nerazzurri from Monaco in 2015 for €36m plus bonuses, but struggled to make an impact in Serie A.
