United plan new De Gea deal

Manchester United are set to offer goalkeeper David De Gea a new contract to dispel any lingering rumours of a move to Real Madrid, say reports.

The 26-year-old has been linked with a move to the Bernabeu after a summer 2015 move collapsed at the eleventh hour but now the Red Devils look to ward off a repeat of such a saga.

The Spain international’s current deal is set to expire in June 2019 and now The Independent report talks are being drawn up regarding a new contract.

Earlier this month, De Gea admitted it was ‘a dream’ to play at Old Trafford amid reports he is willing to commit his long-term future to the club.
