Criticism of Deportivo La Coruna should be at the players and not Coach Pepe Mel, according to central defender Alejandro Arribas.
The 28-year-old was speaking ahead of Depor’s clash with Alaves on Wednesday night as both clubs search for their first win of the season, with the Galician club’s manager under growing pressure.
“It is the players who play, not the Coach,” Arribas is quoted as saying by Marca ahead of the match.
“Our aim is to win as soon as possible, we need to have patience not just as players but also from our fans as we are working hard.
“I don’t care about the situation at Alaves (who are managerless after sacking Luis Zubeldia) as this does not concern us, we have to focus on ourselves and playing to our potential.”
