Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has explained his acrobatic goal against APOEL Nicosia is something he has always been capable of producing.
The defender’s overhead ‘chilena’ effort rounded off Zinedine Zidane’s side comfortable 3-0 victory over the Cypriot champions at the Bernabeu on Wednesday night.
“You must always believe you can do it,” Ramos said of his goal on BeIn Sports after the match.
“I love getting forward as you know that when you do it, something you might not expect can happen so you need to be ready.
“The chilena is a skill I have tried before and has always gone well for me…when I get the chance! I scored them when I was with Sevilla too, and it was good as the goal calmed down the match.
“Cristiano? He is fundamental for us, you just need to look at how often he scores and when he does it…you cannot question his level.”
