Barca ‘twice’ rejected Dybala – report

Barcelona reportedly twice rejected the opportunity to sign Paulo Dybala from Juventus this summer as they thought he wasn’t compatible with Philippe Coutinho.

A sensational report in El Chiringuito de Jugones claims the two clubs – who met in last year’s Champions League quarter finals – held discussions over the Argentine forward, with Juve open to a sale.

The Bianconeri reportedly were prepared to sell the former Palermo forward for €120m, a fee which the Blaugrana were prepared to pay following the €222m they received for Neymar’s sale.

The report suggests Barca directors opted against the move due to their strong belief they would sign Coutinho from Liverpool, and believed Dybala ‘wasn’t compatible’ with the Brazilian playmaker and Lionel Messi.

The 23-year-old penned a new deal at the Old Lady in April.
