Sergio Ramos gave Spain a nine for their 3-0 victory over Italy and said he was “pleased” for Real Madrid teammates Isco and Marco Asensio.
Isco scored a brace and Asensio starred as a false 9 as Spain all-but-confirmed their place at the 2018 World Cup as winners of their qualification group.
“We tried to make the whistles for Pique go unnoticed. The fans responded and we’re very happy,” the defender said after the game.
“Isco and Asensio? I’m happy for my Madrid youngsters. They’re doing very well and that’s important and very good for the national team, who are thriving on them.
“I give Spain a nine for this match. Things can always be improved, but we had a great game.”
