Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez says the club’s intention is to bring two more players to the club before the end of the month.
The Catalan giants are being heavily linked with a move to Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho while former Real Madrid winger Angel Di Maria, now at Paris Saint-Germain, is also said to be a target.
“We are negotiating with other players about bringing them in,” Fernandez replied when asked directly about Coutinho.
“We need to sort the situations quickly as there are not many days left of this transfer window. We hope things progress quickly and that we are able to present another player this month.
“We're working on a number of possible situations but we have to wait – we know the type of player we want and the profile we need to improve the team and we will push until the last possible moment.
“My intention is that one more player comes in and, if it's possible, even two.”
