Barca hold Gomes talks with Juve?

Barcelona reportedly held talks with Juventus regarding a transfer for Andre Gomes but so far have failed to reach an agreement.

According to Tuttosport, the two clubs – who were paired together in Group D of the Champions League – ‘crossed paths’ ahead of the draw in Monaco on Thursday.

The Portuguese midfielder is said to be ‘a project’ for the Bianconeri, who reportedly missed out on the player last year when he joined Barca from Valencia in a deal worth €35m plus a further €20m in bonuses.

The sticking point on a deal appears to be the Blaugrana insisting on a permanent sale or a loan with a compulsory purchase option, while Juve want a loan with an option to buy.

Gomes featured 47 times for the Blaugrana last season but started only 17 La Liga games and was even played at right-back on occasion.
