Former Valencia Coach Cesare Prandelli believes Joao Cancelo’s move to Inter will improve him as a player and benefit his career.
The former Italy national team manager was one of three permanent bosses at the Mestalla last season and believes the 23-year-old Portuguese defender was one of the club’s best players.
“Joao deserves a team like Inter – I am really happy for him,” Prandelli is quoted as saying by Marca.
“At Valencia, he was one of my best players and he has the potential to improve even more and become a more rounded player.
“His technical ability is superb and in Serie A the defensive side of his game will improve, and under Luciano Spalletti he will grow a lot.
“Luciano is a fantastic Coach and can maximise Joao’s potential ability, exploiting his aggressiveness and attacking prowess, along with the sense of when to switch back into defence.
“He can come inside or provide overlaps and is versatile, this is what makes him so promising.”
