Juve end interest in Garay?

Italian champions Juventus have ended their interest in Valencia central defender Ezequiel Garay and will instead pursue Arsenal’s Skhodran Mustafi, say reports.

German defender Mustafi was sold by Los Che to the North London club a year ago but Plaza Deportiva report he is now the Bianconeri’s main target after ending their pursuit of Garay.

Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta is quoted by media in Spain as calling the former Benfica and Zenit Saint Petersburg defender a ‘great player’ but one ‘who does not fit our profile’.

The 31-year-old only joined Los Che from Zenit last summer, but his spell in Spain already seems to be over after an underwhelming 2016-17 campaign.

Valencia are said to now be open to a sale following the arrivals of Jeison Murillo and Gabriel Paulista but would request €20m for the Argentine.

Another option on the table for Garay is a move to Spartak Moscow.
