Malaga Coach Michel has appeared to hit out at the club’s president when stating he ‘prefers to lead from the pitch’ and ‘not from social networks’.
Growing friction between the manager and club president Sheikh Abdullah Al Thani has manifested itself publicly in recent weeks as cracks continue to show ahead of their La Liga opener against Eibar.
“I am only responsible for the tactical decisions,” Michael is quoted as saying by Marca.
“It is my duty to give all my energy to these efforts, I don't like to lead a club from social networks…I prefer to do it out on the pitch.
“My only hope is that nobody interferes with my job of selecting players for matches as this is my authority and those are my decisions.
“We have to face Eibar with the players we have right now, there is no point discussing other players who are not here or who have joined other clubs.”
