Juventus CEO Giuseppe Marotta believes Valencia central defender Ezequiel Garay is a ‘great player’ amid increased speculation of a transfer.
The Italian champions are seeking a replacement for Leonardo Bonucci, who made a shock move to Milan earlier this summer, with the former Benfica and Zenit Saint Petersburg defender heavily linked.
“Garay is a great player,” Marotta is quoted as saying by Marca.
This follows a report in Friday’s Gazzetta dello Sport which stated the Argentine is “more than just an idea” and finds Juve “far more fascinating” than Spartak Moscow, to whom he has also been linked.
The 31-year-old only joined Los Che from Zenit last summer, but his spell in Spain already seems to be over after an underwhelming 2016-17 campaign.
Valencia are said to now welcome a sale after deals for Jeison Murillo and Gabriel Paulista moved closer.
