Keylor: Barca bigger than Neymar

Keylor Navas has made it clear that Real Madrid “can’t think Barcelona are any weaker because they don’t have Neymar.”

Madrid will face a Neymar-less Barca for the first time since 2013 in Sunday’s Supercopa first leg, but Navas insists whoever fills in for the Brazilian will have “the same desire”.

“The team are calm, aware of the responsibility of what lies ahead,” the goalkeeper said at a Press conference.

“We’re approaching the game with confidence, knowing that it’ll be difficult.

“Sixty-six games scoring? It’s always important to score. If we want to win, we have to score and we have a great team to do so.

“Hunger? You play to win. When your mentality changes, you can’t play football anymore, especially at the best in the world.

“Neymar? His talent is no secret, but we know we can’t think [Barca] are any weaker because they don’t have Neymar. Whoever plays in his position will have the same desire.

“How the youngsters are adapting? We have a big squad. The moment a new player arrives, it’s like becoming part of a new family.

“Adapting for them is easy. The ones that have arrived are willing to get involved in this group.

“I’m happy to be here. You have to seize the opportunity when you’re here.

“Two legs? Ultimately, you have to adapt to what’s in front of you. It’s two games and we must play them with the same mentality.

“If it was one game, we wouldn’t change anything. We’d still face it with our mentality, which is to win.

“Barca with Valverde? Barcelona have great players and a very clear idea of playing.

“They can tweak certain things depending on the Coach, but their way of playing is for all to see.

“It’s not a game of secrets, we know each other well and the details will decide [who wins]. We’ll try to be focused so we don’t have any flaws.”
