Liverpool have categorically ruled out the sale of Phillipe Coutinho this summer amid reports he will join Barcelona, the club have confirmed.
The Brazilian international has been linked with a move to the Camp Nou and the English club reportedly knocked back a €100m offer for the former Inter playmaker earlier this week.
“We wish to offer clarity as regards our position on a possible transfer of Philippe Coutinho,” read a Liverpool statement.
“The club’s definitive stance is that no offers for Philippe will be considered and he will remain a member of Liverpool Football Club when the summer window closes.”
Coutinho, 25, was viewed as a primary transfer target for the Catalan club alongside Borussia Dortmund forward Ousmane Dembele following the sale of Neymar to Paris Saint-Germain earlier this month.
