Espanyol striker Felipe Caicedo has completed his move to Lazio in a deal reported to be in the region of €2.5m.
The Ecuadorian striker has agreed a three-year contract with the Serie A side, worth €1.5m a season, after successfully completing his medical examinations.
The Biancocelesti thought a deal had collapsed after the striker’s Spanish citizenship was not officially recognised outside of Spain but they will now readjust their squad.
Caicedo’s place at the Catalan club had been sealed by the return of experienced striker Sergio Garcia this summer and signing the full rights for Atletico Madrid’s Leo Bapistao.
Having had spells at Manchester City, Malaga, Sporting CP, Basel, Lokomotiv Moscow and Levante only netted twice in 27 league appearances for Espanyol last season.
