Milan are hopeful of signing Diego Costa in a permanent deal despite the striker’s preference for a return to Atletico Madrid, say reports.
Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports the Rossoneri have spoken directly to Chelsea and the 28-year-old’s agent Jorge Mendes regarding the possibility of a permanent transfer.
Earlier reports had suggested the Milanese club could take the Spain international on loan from Atletico until January to facilitate the Madrid side’s player registration ban.
However, despite Costa’s insistence on returning to Los Rojiblancos it is said that Chelsea have grown irritated of their posturing over the deal and would prefer to send the striker to Italy.
