Valencia midfielder Nemanja Maksimovic has quit his club’s pre-season tour of North America after not being granted a visa for the United States, say reports.
The Serbian international joined Los Che earlier this summer and played no part in his side’s contest with the New York Cosmos on Saturday, with the club clarifying the situation.
Marca report the US immigration authorities were clear that the 22-year-old – signed from Kazakhstan-based side Astana this summer – had not been issued with the relevant visa.
The highly-rated Maksimovic has now returned to the Mestalla and will sit out his side’s clash against Cincinnati.
