Madrid look to Dolberg, Berardi

Real Madrid are turning their attention to more-affordable striking targets should they fail to land Kylian Mbappe, according to reports in Spain.

Marca state Ajax striker Kasper Dolberg and Sassuolo attacking star Domenico Berardi are highly thought of by officials at the Bernabeu and moves are not being ruled out.

The rethink comes following Alvaro Morata’s exit to Chelsea and the funds raised from his sale – reports vary regarding the transfer fee, but all state he is Spain’s most expensive player ever.

The Spain international was re-signed by Los Blancos last season due to the lack of striking alternatives to Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema, a problem which has now manifested itself once more.

Danish forward Dolberg rose to prominence in the Netherlands in the Europa League last season – netting 23 times in 48 appearances.

Berardi is a highly-rated Italian Under 21 international at Serie A minnows Sassuolo who has been linked with a move to Inter this summer, and scored nine times last campaign.

Borja Mayoral looks set once again to exit the Bernabeu on a loan deal this summer, with Alaves and Leganes interested.
