Valencia have been given hope on signing Inter’s Gary Medel after the Chilean reportedly is refusing to leave European football.
According to Plaza Deportiva, the 29-year-old is admired by new Los Che Coach Marcelino Garcia Toral, who previously managed him at Sevilla in the 2011-12 season.
The Chilean has reportedly turned down the opportunity to join Tigres in Mexico while a move to Boca Juniors – his former club – has also failed to materialise, allegedly due to his desire to continue playing in Europe.
Medel has made 109 appearances for the Nerazzurri since his 2014 transfer from Cardiff City and will turn down the chance to join Turkish club Trabzonspor, instead favouring the Valencia option.
Officials at the Mestalla are also said to be in talks with Inter over a move for Geoffrey Kondogbia, while Medel plays no part in new Inter Coach's Luciano Spalletti's plans.
