Real Madrid have completed a deal for highly-rated Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos on a six-year contract after triggering his release clause.
The 20-year-old will move to Madrid after they triggered his €15m release clause at Estadio Benito Villamarin, although the move will reportedly be closer to €18m due to other fees related to activating the deal this summer.
There had been an impasse between the clubs as Los Verdiblancos insisted on a lump sum payment rather than a series of instalments and reports suggest the full amount will be paid up front, following negotiations.
Barcelona and Juventus were among the clubs rumoured to be interested in the Spanish Under 21 international, but a move to the Bernabeu was always the most likely outcome.
It is not believed the deal will include a loan back to Betis despite Ceballos facing competition from Luka Modric, Toni Kroos and Marcos Llorente, among others, in the capital.
