Madrid to bid for De Gea?

Manchester United are anticipating a bid from Real Madrid for goalkeeper David De Gea this summer, according to reports.

Various media outlets in Britain state the Red Devils are expecting the European champions to launch a renewed bid for the Spain international, but these reports have not been reflected in Spain.

Relations between the clubs are said to be strained and the breakdown in negotiations for striker Alvaro Morata are unlikely to have helped – the two clubs were said to be in talks for months before United signed Everton’s Romelu Lukaku instead.

Madrid were said to be interested in Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma who has now signed a new long-term deal at the San Siro, but are thought to be keen to retain Keylor Navas as their first-choice goalkeeper.

Despite early season doubts over the Costa Rican’s form and fitness, he enjoyed a strong run-in to the season in the final four months in the successful La Liga and Champions League titles.
