Villarreal have confirmed striker Cedric Bakambu has renewed his contract with the club by two seasons until June 2022.
Reports earlier this month had suggested the Yellow Submarine had rejected a €25m offer from West Ham United for the Congolese striker.
Bakambu has featured 60 times in La Liga since joining Villarreal from Turkish side Bursaspor in 2015, scoring 34 goals across all competitions.
The former Sochaux man struggled with injury problems last season but still helped Fran Escriba’s side to a fifth-place finish to ensure qualification for the Europa League.
A press conference has been scheduled for Friday by the club to discuss the news.
