Sevilla close to Corchia deal – report

Sevilla are hopeful of signing Lille right-back Sebastien Corchia to replace Mariano, who looks set to leave the club, say reports in Spain.

According to Estadio Deportivo, the 26-year-old is valued at €7.5m but could be available for less due to his contract at the Ligue 1 side expiring next summer.

The report follows on from news that Turkish side Galatasaray have lodged a deal for Los Rojiblancos full back Mariano, and the French defender’s arrival could be a direct replacement.

“Sevilla are a club who are big and very interesting,” Corchia is reported as saying by the report.

“La Liga is an incredible competition, but I do not know anything, only my representatives know what's happening right now.

“I focus on football and returning to training after the holidays with Lille, where I still have a year of contract.

"I still do not know if I'm going or staying but I have not said that I want to leave here.

“I can confirm that I've heard of interest from clubs in England, Italy and Spain, many of them are big clubs but to be honest, I do not usually pay attention to all these stories.

"My job is to play football and my agent takes care of these things.”

Corchia played all 38 of Lille’s league outings last year, and has been capped by France.
