James joins Bayern on two-year loan

Bayern Munich have completed a two-year loan deal for Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez with an option to buy, it has been confirmed.

The 25-year-old had been linked to Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea but his move to the German champions has been confirmed on Tuesday afternoon.

Unconfirmed reports in Bild state the loan fee stands at €10m with the option to buy at the end of the deal standing at €35.2m.

“FC Bayern Munich and Real Madrid have agreed on the change of Colombian national player James Rodriguez to the German championship on Tuesday,” read a Bayern statement.

"The two clubs agreed on a two-year loan transaction until June 30, 2019 with the following purchase option for FC Bayern Munich.

"James Rodriguez will sign his contract in Munich after successfully completing the compulsory medical check."

The former FC Porto and Monaco star made 77 La Liga appearances across three seasons, netting 22 goals.
