Italian club Verona have completed the signing of Alessio Cerci following his release from Atletico Madrid, it has been confirmed.
Cerci has reportedly penned a one-year deal with the Serie A newboys, who have also completed the signing of another former Italian international striker – Antonio Cassano.
The 30-year-old joined Atleti from Torino in the summer of 2014 for €15m but played just 11 times for Los Rojiblancos in a three-year spell that included loan spells at Milan and Genoa.
Having previously won 14 caps for Italy, Cerci’s career stalled following a move to Spain having scored 21 goals between 2012 and 2014 in Serie A for Torino.
