Bayern move ahead in James race

Bayern Munich are in pole position to sign Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez this summer, according to various reports.

Colombia's Caracol TV sports director Javier Hernandez Bonnet said on Monday that the former Porto and Monaco star is  “closer to Bayern Munich than to Paris Saint-Germain" while Bayern’s director general Karl-Heinz Rummenigge refused to rule out a move.

"All of the options are open," Rummenigge told German newspaper Bild.

"I won't want to talk about every rumour. It makes it more complicated and expensive.”

Diario AS have followed up on these claims to state that talks between the Bundesliga champions and Los Blancos are ‘advanced’ and state all at Madrid recognise a move for the 25-year-old will be concluded this summer.
