‘Zizou won over dressing room’ – Ramos

Real Madrid captain Sergio Ramos has hailed the impact of manager Zinedine Zidane and his skill in ‘winning over’ the club’s dressing room.

In 18 months at the Bernabeu, the Frenchman has guided Los Blancos to back-to-back Champions League crowns and a La Liga title.

“Our Coach is breaking all of the records set by every Coach that has previously managed this team," Ramos told reporters at a Nike event in Madrid.

"The key is that he has been able to transmit all of the talent he had as a player to the bench.

"He has won over a dressing room that is not easy [to manage, with all the star players] and we are all close to him.

"It is madness to achieve three Champions League titles in four years; when we finish our careers, we will be able to look back and see what we have accomplished and we can look at our medals.

"Our goals must be as high as possible so that we try to exceed ourselves every year as we want to break records and statistics.

"We're starting from scratch; we must set the tone [at the start of the campaign] and aspire to win all potential trophies."
