Liverpool are interested in Sevilla goalkeeper Sergio Rico and are lining up a €12m offer, say reports in Spain.
According to ABC de Sevilla, the 23-year-old has interested Jurgen Klopp’s side although his €30m release clause is likely to be a major stumbling block in any negotiations.
Los Rojiblancos have instilled Rico, a member of Spain’s international squad, as their undisputed number one ahead of David Soria and are unlikely to negotiate down below his clause.
The Premier League giants have alternated between Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius as first choice goalkeeper and are keen to establish a clear preference for the position.
Rico has made 69 La Liga appearances for Sevilla across the past two seasons.
