Morata ‘reaches agreement’ with United

Manchester United and Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata have “reached an agreement” over a move to Old Trafford this summer, say reports.

According to Sky Italia journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, the 24-year-old has agreed to join the Red Devils, who will now open negotiations with Los Blancos on Thursday.

The Spain international’s agent, Juanma Lopez, spent more than two hours at the Bernabeu on Wednesday evening to speed up the deal with a transfer fee now the only outstanding detail.

Madrid are set to be holding out for a massive €90m fee, although such is the player’s willingness to move to Manchester it seems inevitable the agreement will be negotiated significantly lower.

Jose Mourinho handed Morata his debut at the Bernabeu, while United have completed a deal for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof with Inter winger Ivan Perisic also reportedly set to join the Europa League holders.
