Real Madrid and Spain international striker Alvaro Morata is top of Manchester United’s wish list of signings this summer, say reports.
According to the Telegraph, the 24-year-old "is United's top target as they aim to make the key signing to succeed Zlatan Ibrahimovic as their main centre-forward."
The future of Ibrahimovic is under scrutiny as he is out-of-contract and recovering from a cruciate ligament knee injury and Jose Mourinho is said to be prioritising the signing of a ‘number nine’ striker to take the Swede’s mantle.
Madrid are said to be willing to sanction Morata’s sale for €60m this summer, having only re-signed the striker from Juventus last summer.
The Madrid-native netted 15 La Liga goals last campaign despite making only 14 starts and he is said to be seeking first-team opportunities elsewhere, with United, Milan and Chelsea all heavily linked.
