Liverpool’s ‘pre-contract’ with Casillas?

Liverpool have made an offer to FC Porto goalkeeper Iker Casillas and already has a pre-contract offer, say reports in Spain.

According to Diario AS, the former Real Madrid goalkeeper has received offers from the Premier League, Qatar China and Turkey but would favour a move to Anfield.

The 36-year-old is ‘determined to leave’ the Portuguese club after spending two years at Estadio do Dragao, where he moved to in 2015 from Madrid.

Casillas initially signed a two-year contract with Os Dragoes and whilst he has the option of a one-year contract extension, he has not yet signed it despite indicating in 2016 he would be keen to exercise the choice.

The experienced shot-stopper has enjoyed a vintage campaign, conceding only 23 goals in 43 appearances but his side missed out on the title to Benfica for the fourth successive year.

AS concludes the report by stating Casillas ‘will probably be very far away’ from Porto when they return for pre-season training in July.
