Soler signs long-term Valencia deal

Midfielder Carlos Soler has signed a new long-term deal at boyhood club Valencia amid reported interest from Manchester United.

The highly-rated 20-year-old has signed a new deal with Los Che until June 2021 with a renewed buyout clause of €80m, the club confirmed on Tuesday.

Soler only made his professional debut in December but has gone on to make 22 appearances, scoring three times, in a string of impressive displays which has caught the attention of a number of European scouts.

"I’ve been a Valencianista since I was little,” Soler told the official club website.

“I joined at the age of seven. I’m 20 now, and with this new contract which is for four more years, I’m looking forward to staying at the Club I’ve always loved and supported. I’m so glad, it’s a very special day for me.

"It's been a really great year for me, in which I've come up through the ranks and settled into the team very quickly and my teammates have treated me very well, they have welcomed me from the first day.

"I’m a first team player. I’m not a newcomer and it means a lot of responsibility but I hope me and the club can rise to the challenge.

“We hope they trust us; next year is going to be a great season for Valencia CF and we're going to give it our all".
