‘No debate’ over James – ZZ

Zinedine Zidane insisted there is ‘no debate’ over the future of Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez despite numerous reports of his departure.

Numerous outlets have stated the 25-year-old has been offered to Manchester United while he has missed Real Madrid training on Monday and Tuesday with a supposed foot injury.

"James is here with us," Zidane told his pre-match press conference.

"There is no debate about his future. He did not train today as he got a hard knock [on Sunday]. And we are just thinking about the three games we have left."

Also unavailable for Madrid’s remaining league games are winger Gareth Bale and right-back Dani Carvajal who are continuing their recoveries from calf muscle and hamstring injuries respectively, with both aiming for the Champions League final.

"This is not the moment to talk about whether Gareth will be fit for the [UCL] final [on June 3]," Zidane added.

"He is much better, has been on the pitch, although not with us yet. It is positive and we are happy, although he will not be with us tomorrow."
