Rafinha Alcantara will not be leaving Barcelona this summer despite media reports to the contrary, confirmed his father and agent.
El Mundo Deportivo’s front page on Thursday spoke of the ‘dilemma’ facing the midfielder, who reportedly was interested in departing the Camp Nou to play more minutes ahead of the 2018 World Cup.
The report inside the paper stated that as many five English Premier League club’s were interested in Rafinha – who’s brother Thiago plays for Bayern Munich – while Brazilian side Flamengo were also linked.
"This is absurd, I don't know who started this," Mazinho, the player’s father and agent, is quoted as saying by Sportv.
"Rafinha has no interest in leaving Barcelona. We have a contract until 2020 and he will finish it normally."
