Eduardo Berizzo believes Celta Vigo were not ambitious or ruthless enough in their 1-0 Europa League defeat to Manchester United on Thursday.
Celta were restricted to mainly long-range efforts, headers from Daniel Wass and Iago Aspas aside, and Berizzo demanded more from his side’s attack in their semi-final second leg at Old Trafford next week.
“In the first half, they attacked from us losing the ball on a few occasions,” the Coach said after the game.
“We matched them in the second half, but they found the fault on our part, which opened the game. It was a serious and very orderly game.
“The second leg? We’ll try to score, like we before [in the first leg].
“I think it was a physical match, with a lot of battles for second balls. In the first half we didn’t do well, but in the second we did.
“We have to play so our attack has an effect [in the second leg].
“We’re very similar home and away and we’ll try to do more harm than we did here.
“We have a plan for [the second leg] that must be executed with great ambition. This result can’t confuse us.
“Our idea is always to win, regardless of our previous result.”
