New Roma sporting director Monchi is looking forward to starting an ‘exciting project’ with the Italians after his arrival at the club was confirmed.
The 48-year-old resigned from his position at Sevilla last month after 17 years in the role and, following much speculation, he has now been unveiled by the Italian giants.
“I’d like to thank the President of Roma, James Pallotta, and members of their board for giving me this opportunity,” he told the club’s official website.
“This is an exciting project and I’m looking forward to working alongside the fans, staff and players of this historical team for many years to come.”
Earlier this week, Los Rojiblancos confirmed Oscar Arias, who worked alongside Monchi during his time in Andalucia, would take over as the club’s sporting director.
