Cristiano Ronaldo urged Real Madrid fans “not to whistle me because I always do my best” after his side “were fair winners” against Bayern Munich.
Ronaldo scored a hat-trick and became the first player to net 100 times in Champions League history on Tuesday as Madrid beat Bayern 4-2 to reach the semi-finals, but some Blancos supporters resorted to jeering the side when Bayern seemed to have the momentum in the game.
“Bayern showed that they were an excellent team, but we played very well,” the forward told Antena 3 after the final whistle.
“We had a lot of chances. We scored two goals. We’re used to suffering, but we’re very happy.
“Madrid were better, it’s not easy to score six goals against Bayern. We’re fair winners.
“I only ask that [the fans] don’t whistle me because I always do my best, I work and help Real Madrid.
“I’ll stick with the good things, the team were very good, we played very well.”
