Kroos: Madrid move was a good call

Toni Kroos has no regrets over leaving Bayern Munich for Real Madrid. ‘It was very important for me to go abroad, it was a good decision.’

Kroos faces his former club on Wednesday night as Madrid meet Bayern in the Champions League Quarter-Final, but the Germany international is approaching the match like it is any other opponent.

“I always want to impose my style of play on the pitch, that is my goal, and this game won’t be different from any others,” he told reporters, according to AS.

“It was very important for me to go abroad. It was a challenge in my career. This summer it will be three years. It was a good decision, it’s taken me to very good places in my career. I’ve integrated in Madrid, I have learned a new language and I meet the demands of a team like Madrid, which aren’t few.

“What do I like about Spain? The food? I’ve always eaten well. As well as [in Germany]. What I like best is the sun, which you get more of.”
