Barca to buyback Deulofeu

Barcelona are set to exercise their buyback option on Everton winger Gerard Deulofeu, according to reports in Spain.

Mundo Deportivo state the Blaugrana are keen to make the 23-year-old – who is currently enjoying a loan spell with AC Milan – their first signing of the summer.

Barca included a buyback clause when selling Deulofeu to Everton in the summer of 2015 for €12m, but this option expires on June 30, forcing those at the Camp Nou to act fast upon making a decision.

Outgoing Coach Luis Enrique was rumoured to have played a big role in Deulofeu’s departure as he sanctioned his sale despite impressing in pre-season, while a new manager may see him as a bigger part of his plans.

The Catalan’s sporting  director Robert Fernandez stated last month a deal to return him to the club was a genuine possibility, while Diario Sport also ran a claim that the player – who starred in Spain’s recent win in France – was interesting the Spanish champions.

The former Sevilla loanee is not thought to play any part in Ronald Koeman’s future plans at Everton, while it is also rumoured that the Rossoneri would want to sign him on a permanent deal.
