Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno has admitted it is an ‘honour’ to be linked to Real Madrid but he’s just concentrating on Bayer Leverkusen.
A report in Kicker has linked the 25-year-old goalkeeper with a move to the Bernabeu who is said to have a €20m release clause in his contract with the Bundesliga club.
"It honours you when you are linked with Real," Leno told kicker.
"[But] in the current situation I want to fully focus on Leverkusen."
Leno’s agent Uli Ferber said: "There was interest [from clubs abroad] last year, and there is interest again this year.”
The goalkeeper is on course to make his 200th appearance for Bayer before the end of the season, while he made his competitive debut for Germany in Sunday’s 4-1 victory at Azerbaijan.
Madrid have been linked to a goalkeeper this summer to replace the out-of-form Keylor Navas, with David De Gea and Thibaut Courtois amongst the goalkeepers rumoured to be interesting Los Blancos.
