Serie A side Napoli are reportedly weighing up a move for highly-rated Real Betis midfielder Dani Ceballos, according to reports.
La Gazzetta Dello Sport state the Neapolitans have scouted the 20-year-old midfielder extensively over recent weeks and are hopeful of springing the €12m release clause which exists in his contract to lure him to Italy.
Ceballos extended his contract at Estadio Benito Villamarin to 2020 last year and has repeatedly said his focus is on remaining with the club and progressing as a player but a string of fine performances in La Liga have inevitably lead to clubs taking note.
After initially falling out of favour this season under Gus Poyet, the appointment of Victor Sanchez del Amo has not only returned the Seville-native to the starting eleven but has brought the best form of his career.
Ceballos is expected to star for the Spanish Under 21 side this summer in the European Championships in Poland, while Betis sporting director Miguel Torrecilla said on Wednesday they are working hard on a new deal with an increased release clause.
