Sevilla captain Vicente Iborra believes fatigue may be kicking into the squad as he attempted to explain their recent poor form.
Tuesday night’s Champions League exit at the hands of Leicester City followed disappointing league draws against Alaves and Leganes, which has derailed their ambitions of challenging Real Madrid and Barcelona for the league title.
“We don’t have the same levels of freshness as we did in previous months,” Iborra explained on Cadena Cope.
“We have to correct things, carry out some self-criticism, work hard in training and if we want to return to live the good times here, we have to return to winning games as soon as possible.
“When you aren’t on top of your game in the Champions League, you pay for it and that was the case for us, it’s been a hard season and we were not effective.”
