Real Madrid playmaker James Rodriguez wants to stay at the club ‘forever’ despite media speculation he could leave the Bernabeu this summer.
Radio station COPE reported he could be involved in a swap deal with Chelsea star Eden Hazard later this year, but the Colombian has reaffirmed he has no desire to leave the club.
A report in AS suggests the former Porto and Monaco star wants to extend his current contract, which expires in 2020 with an increase on his €7.7m annual wage.
"Always when I get a chance [to play] I try and do well," James is quoted as saying by AS.
"That is all I have in mind. I want to stay here [Madrid] forever.
“You must be aware that in life and in football you never what will happen, but I want to stay here."
The Colombian returned to Zinedine Zidane’s starting line-up in Saturday’s 4-1 rout at Eibar, where he grabbed a goal and played a starring role as Madrid returned to winning ways.
