Real Madrid vice-captain Marcelo suggested the attitude of some of his teammates was not good enough and the side needed to ‘improve many things’.
The 28-year-old was speaking moments after his side had to come from 3-1 down to rescue a point with two late goals at home to Las Palmas in a result which saw them slide off the top of the standings.
"Again it is up to me to explain what happened, and it is difficult," the Brazilian told Movistar TV after the full-time whistle.
"My opinion is that we must improve many things, although we always front up. We must improve many things, we are not doing things during the games that before the game we say we will do.
"That is why this is happening to us lately. Las Palmas have good players, they move the ball around well. We tried to pressure them, but it didn't happen. In the end we got the draw, I don't know how, with help of all the team but the truth is this is very difficult."
"The red card? I am nobody to say give Bale clip round the ear – I just do that to my kids.
"Bale is old enough to know if he did wrong or not. These things happen in football, hopefully not again this season."
